DALENE L. TEGMEYER
Dalene L. Tegmeyer has over 43 years in the cosmetology field. Holding both a license as a Master Barber and Cosmetology Instructor license that she obtained in 1976 from the Academy of Beauty Culture, she has worked in several areas of the industry including working behind the chair for several years at a chain salon before starting her own then becoming an Instructor for Olympian Academy. To Dalene, teaching is not just a job, it’s an opportunity to shape the future stylists’ and barbers’ of tomorrow, to aid them in reaching their goals by empowering students with care and understanding while also creating a positive learning environment. It is her belief those small changes can make the world around her students a better place and better prepares them for success.
Christopher Skipper graduated from Olympian Academy in 2016 to become a master barber. When he graduated he moved to Taos NM where he worked in a Salon for 5 years and is now very happy to be back in Las Cruces NM. He continuously enjoys learning and growing with Olympian Academy. “I enjoy the never-ending excitement of learning new cutting styles and techniques and getting the opportunity to teach this to my students.” He believes it’s even more exciting and important to see his students grow and progress in their Barber careers which all start here at Olympian.
Vincent Negron, also known as Chenzo the barber. Vincent has been in the barber industry for years now. He graduated from Olympian University in April 2012. His passion for cutting hair has grown into a passion for serving the community. Being a barber isn’t just about cutting hair for him, it’s also about positive interactions with other individuals. The combination of the two has driven him into becoming an educator. Vincent began teaching in April 2019 and says, “being a barber instructor is a reward all in itself. I get to interact with other individuals who carry the same passion as mine.”
